Bio

Marcia Ash is a PhD candidate and George W. Woodruff Fellow in the Department of Behavioral, Social, and Health Education Sciences at Emory University's Rollins School of Public Health. She has over 10 years of experience in public health research. Marcia's current research areas of focus include (1) maternal/child health equity and access to mental health care and (2) organizational drivers of burnout and wellbeing, and (3) applications of large language models for qualitative analysis. Marcia was awarded an R36 Dissertation Grant through the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) to examine multilevel barriers and facilitators to addressing disparities in perinatal mental health. She is also a Research Fellow at the Emory Center for AI Learning.

Marcia holds a Master’s in Public Health from the Rollins School of Public Health and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Neuroscience, and Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis. Marcia previously served as Program Coordinator for Research and Special Initiatives at the Emory Center for Contemplative Science and Compassion-Based Ethics and is a certified CBCT® (Cognitively-Based Compassion Training) instructor.
