Exposomics Research Accelerator

Advancing Innovative Approaches to Understand How Environmental Exposures Shape Human Health

By integrating cutting-edge exposomics, metabolomics, and multi-omics technologies with population-based studies, the Exposomics Research Accelerator will uncover the biological mechanisms of environmental risk and translate discoveries into actionable public health insights.

The Exposomics Research Accelerator fosters interdisciplinary collaboration across Rollins and Emory to develop novel exposome-focused research programs, pilot studies, and large-scale grant applications.

Key activities:

  • Methodological innovation in exposure assessment
  • Exposomics profiling
  • Omics integration
  • Shared analytical and laboratory resources
  • Team science development
  • Mentoring of trainees and early-career investigators.

The Exposomics Research Accelerator also serves as a critical hub for connecting exposomics research with policy-relevant questions and community-engaged public health priorities.

This accelerator builds on a strong foundation of ongoing, externally funded exposomics and multi-omics research at Rollins, including NIH-supported studies of the exposome, air pollution, chemical mixtures, cancer, maternal and child health, neurodegenerative disease, ADRD, and cardiometabolic outcomes. Accelerator-supported collaborations have contributed to high-impact publications, cross-school partnerships, and the development of competitive large-scale grant proposals that position Rollins as an international leader in exposome science.
