Overview
Rollins Students are Set Up for Success
Whether you are looking to gain skills, build your confidence, or feel connected to a vibrant community, our services and programs are designed to help you succeed personally and professionally.

A Sense of Belonging
Our students are highly engaged inside and outside the classroom. At Rollins, there are a number of student organizations that are dedicated to connecting you with communities, resources, and support services.
A subset of our student organizations, called community and belonging student organizations, consist of affinity groups that offer supportive spaces for students who share an identity. Executive board members of these organizations participate as thought partners and contributors in school-wide diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.

Academic Success Resources
Our enrollment services team provides the resources you need for a successful academic career at Rollins—from quantitative tutoring to academic calendars, and everything in between.
International and First-Gen Students
International Student Support
When you step foot on Rollins’ campus, you are joining a global community of scholarship. In partnership with Emory University, we have an infrastructure for supporting our growing international student community from admission to graduation.
International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) is dedicated to helping international students adjust to a new culture and education system, connect with the Emory global community, maintain legal status, and apply for immigration benefits.
- All international students have an ISSS advisor that can assist with any visa-related inquiries.
- Explore the Life in the U.S. Guide to learn about resources available to international students as they establish themselves in Atlanta.
- Connect with Emory’s global community through cultural, educational, and social events.
We offer two English language support courses for multilingual learners which cover topics such as academic writing, good scholarship, presentation skills, and professional communication skills. This course must be taken by all first-year English language learners and is a graduation requirement for students coming from countries where English is not a primary language.
The Academic Resource Center at the Rollins School of Public Health and the Emory Writing Center offer free quantitative and writing tutoring for degree-seeking students.
Advised by the Professional Advancement & Student Experience Center, the Rollins International Student Advisory Board (RISAB) hosts community-building and professional development events for international students. They also partner with the International Education Peace Volunteers to host community-led conversation practice sessions each week.
For more questions about how to join RISAB, please contact Jennifer Ducksworth.
First-Generation Student Support
At Emory University, we seek to celebrate and create a network for first-generation students where we connect them with faculty and staff who understand their experiences.
Advised by the Professional Advancement & Student Experience Center, the First-Gen at Rollins Advisory Board consists of first-generation students and faculty. The advisory board connects students to school and university resources, provides leadership and professional development opportunities for first-generation students, and builds a sense of community and belonging at Rollins. They also collaborate with Emory First to connect Rollins students with the first-generation community at Emory University.
For questions about how to join the First-Gen at Rollins Advisory Board, please contact Jennifer Ducksworth.
Building community is one of the most important parts of the student experience at Emory and a key focus of the university’s student flourishing initiative. Physically located on the third floor of Cox Hall, Emory First serves as a central hub for first-generation students and students from low- and limited-income backgrounds, extending Emory’s history of support and ensuring their access to resources and community essential to their educational journey.
