Academic Resources

We are committed to supporting every student in achieving their academic goals and unlocking their full potential. The resources on this site are designed to provide our students with the tools, guidance, and support they need to excel in their studies and make the most of their educational experience.

Academic Calendar
Rollins offers several academic sessions within each academic term, and each has unique key dates. The Rollins academic calendar has the need-to-know dates posted for each session.
Students can take classes in multiple session; most commonly traditional MPH and MSPH students take courses during regular session and a half semester and/or pre-term session course.

Academic Policies
All students are responsible for knowing and being aware of the policies and procedures of the Rollins School of Public Health. These policies apply to all Rollins students and cover a wide range of rules, regulations, and academic procedures from honor and conduct code to grading and enrollment policies.
Your Academic Toolkit
Quantitative Essentials for Public Health is an asynchronous online course available to students the summer before their first semester of classes and throughout their time at Rollins. It serves as a refresher on quantitative topics and provides pre- and post-assessments to prepare for quantitative success.
The Emory Writing Center offers up to two one-on-one appointments per week for enrolled students, supporting writers of all levels at any stage in the writing process. These appointments may be in person or virtual and can include support for writing resumes, cover letters, and personal statements.
The Rollins Academic Resource Center (ARC) provides one-on-one quantitative tutoring and weekly drop-in hours for MPH and MSPH students. Quantitative tutors work with students to understand epidemiological and statistical concepts and methods introduced in their coursework, apply these concepts to their research projects, and provide support for students conducting quantitative analyses. Tutors are familiar with SAS and R programming languages.
ARC services are available throughout the academic year. Quantitative support appointments are 30 or 45 minutes for individuals or groups. Out of courtesy to ARC staff, appointments must be scheduled or canceled at least 24 hours in advance. Enrolled, degree-seeking students may request up to two appointments per month for quantitative support.
Students can access both individual tutoring appointments and drop-in hours in person or online. To schedule an individual appointment with a quantitative tutor, please use this link to reserve a time. Check here for Quantitative Drop-in Hours. If you do not see an appointment available and/or there is not one that fits your schedule, please email rspharc@emory.edu.
MPH and MSPH students have access to a series of online asynchronous videos focusing on various aspects of public health communication, from style and writing to knowing your audience. These are available to students starting the summer before their first semester and throughout their time as a student.
