Program Overview
The MPH in Environmental Health is a gateway to understanding the intricate relationship between environmental factors and human health. The program provides a uniquely interdisciplinary approach to examining the chemical, physical, and microbial hazards that occur in the home, workplace, and general environment.
Curriculum
Required Courses
At Rollins, environmental health education reaches beyond the classroom. Through required and elective course work and real-world experiences, students gain critical skills in epidemiology, toxicology, risk assessment, exposure science, and more. Students engage with faculty and community members to actively learn from locally run non-profits, governmental agencies, and multi-national research projects.
An MPH in Environmental Health requires 42 credit hours of coursework, including an applied practice experience and integrative learning experience.

Admissions
Admissions Requirements
Successful applicants come from diverse backgrounds and can clearly demonstrate specific interests and experiences that led them to consider advanced environmental health training. We take a holistic approach and consider all aspects of the application.
In addition to the SOPHAS application, all applicants will need to submit the following materials when applying to the MPH in Environmental Health:
- Personal statement that addresses your interest in the field of public health and your specific interest in the Rollins School of Public Health and Environmental Health.
- College transcripts
- Two letters of recommendation
- Resume
- The GRE is not required.
The Gangarosa Department of Environmental Health also requires that all students complete both a college-level biology and chemistry course prior to matriculation. Courses in statistics, calculus, and organic chemistry are also preferred.
