The MSPH in Data Science equips students with the skill set they need to identify and apply appropriate algorithms for data collection, curation, and analysis to address real-world problems in public health. Students are trained to meet the needs of a high-demand and rapidly advancing health research field. Students will also be trained in foundational topics in public health such as health care systems, health promotion and management, and evidence-based approaches to public health.

The three-semester, 12-month MPH in Health Care Management helps students who already have extensive practical public health experience build leadership skills for advanced careers in health care service delivery.

The 15-month, three-semester Master of Public Health in Global Health is aimed at experienced public health professionals interested in enhancing their knowledge of global health issues and building upon leadership skills. The program is perfect for students seeking in-depth training in the theory and methods of global health work who cannot take more than 15 months away from their current employment.

The accelerated MPH program provides an opportunity for students currently enrolled in regionally accredited graduate/professional programs within the U.S. other than Emory University to obtain an MPH in addition to their advanced degree.

Emory College and Rollins jointly offer a five-year bachelor of arts (BA) and master of science in public health (MSPH) degree program. Through this program, students can complete a BA/BS degree at Emory College (most likely with a major concentration in Mathematics and Computer Sciences) and a MSPH in biostatistics at Rollins in five years.

The Human Health BA /Epidemiology MPH 4 + 1 program is a distinctive opportunity for high-achieving students who seek career paths in epidemiology. Accepted students begin graduate-level epidemiology coursework during their fourth year at Emory College, enabling completion of their BA and MPH in five years.

The Gangarosa Department of Environmental Health at Rollins and the Department of Environmental Science at Emory College jointly offer a five-year Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences and Master of Public Health in Environmental Health dual degree program. Students in this 4 + 1 program will earn a BS and MPH that will prepare them to tackle the most challenging environmental threats of the future.

The Certificate in Climate and Health positions students to be leaders in what the World Health Organization has called “the defining issue of the 21st century.” Students participating in this certificate program will benefit from Emory University’s substantial strengths and connections in the field of climate change and will develop an understanding of research, programmatic, and policy tools required to address the health impacts of climate change.

Data science is a concept that unifies statistics, data analysis, informatics, and their related methods to understand and analyze actual phenomena with data. It uses techniques and theories drawn from many fields within the context of mathematics, statistics, computer science, information science, and domain knowledge. Students in the Certificate in Data Science at Rollins will be trained to meet the needs of a rapidly advancing health research field.

The Certificate in Genetic and Molecular Epidemiology (GME) at Rollins prepares students to assess, manage, and analyze these data in the context of scientific and public health utilities. Through coursework, an applied practice experience, and an integrative learning experience, GME students will gain mastery of study design, data analysis, and interpretation of results pertaining to the use of genetic and molecular data in research and public health programming. 

The Certificate in Human Rights, offered by the Institute of Human Rights, is an integrated, innovative, and cooperative approach to human rights scholarship and training. The certificate combines the teaching and research strength of Emory University with the applied programs of our professional partners. Certificate students will be equipped with a skill set that allows them to address challenges raised by current human rights issues and an understanding of the strengths and limitations of these approaches. Students will be trained to meet the needs of a global, rapidly changing human rights agenda. This training will allow students to use human rights mechanisms to advance the public good.
