Lauren Christiansen-Lindquist, PhD, will serve as Rollins' associate dean for education starting November 1, 2025. This allows for a two-month transition with Delia Lang, PhD, executive associate dean of academic affairs, before Lang’s departure at the end of December.
Christiansen-Lindquist is currently an associate professor of epidemiology and serves as vice chair for education in the Department of Epidemiology. She has also served as director of graduate studies for the MPH and MSPH programs in epidemiology since 2019.
Christiansen-Lindquist is a Rollins alumna, receiving an MPH and PhD in epidemiology, which has informed her work as director of graduate studies where she has supported and advised faculty in best teaching practices, developed new teaching competencies used across Rollins and peer programs, and advocated for new programs, namely the 4+1 BA/MPH Human Health and Epidemiology.
Christiansen-Lindquist has instructed multiple undergraduate and graduate courses at Emory University, innovated many curriculum advances, and co-authored a new introductory textbook on epidemiologic methods. She has received several honors and awards for her teaching including the Emory Provost’s Distinguished Teaching Award for Excellence in Graduate and Professor Education in 2024, the Noel Weiss & Tom Koepsell Excellence in Education Award from the Society for Epidemiology Research, and the Rollins Student Government Association Teacher of the Year in 2016 and 2021. Christiansen-Lindquist has over the years served as lead instructor for all of the core epidemiology courses at the Rollins, as well as the undergraduate Fundamentals of Epidemiology for the Human Biology program.
Christiansen-Lindquist has provided outstanding academic leadership to the school, including as chair of the Rollins Education Committee, as a lead faculty support for our new online learning initiatives, and as co-chair of a recent Rollins Education Taskforce and curriculum review working group. Throughout her time at Rollins, Christiansen-Lindquist has never wavered in her deep commitment to education, to faculty success as instructors and mentors, and to student mentorship and advocacy.
As she steps into her new role, Christiansen-Lindquist will continue to build upon her long career of educational excellence at Rollins and help to guide our programs and courses in the years to come.
