Tanushree Bhan

Bio

Dr Tanushree Bhan is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Hubert Department of Global Health at the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University. She engages mixed methods to explore her research interests in gender, poverty, environment, and public policy. Her work has been published in leading development and health policy journals such as Social Science and Medicine. Her doctoral research project on sanitation policymaking for the urban poor in Delhi was awarded funding from the Vice Provost’s Office, for which she also received a Public Service Award from the Dean of her graduate school at the University of Massachusetts Boston. Dr Bhan has over 5 years of field-based research expertise in gender inequities in empowerment, public health, and social protection. She has experience both in collaborating with international research teams and government partners whilst leading the design, implementation, and management of large-scale and mixed-method evaluation research projects, as well as mentoring research and field staff on her projects. Prior to Emory, she was a Consultant with the World Bank and a Research Fellow at a leading evidence-to-policy thinktank, both in New Delhi (India).
