Denise Ballard

Denise Ballard is Program Director of the Office of Community Outreach and Engagement at the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University.  Prior to joining Emory, she spent 14 years at Horizons Community Solutions (formerly Cancer Coalition of South Georgia) in Albany, GA.  While there, she served as Director of the Center to Reduce Cancer Disparities, Vice President of Cancer Prevention and Control, and then Chief Mission Officer, collaborating with community and research partners to reduce health disparities across a 32-county region.  Before that, she spent eight years as regional Partnership Program Manager of the National Cancer Institute's Cancer Information Service-Midwest Region at Wayne State University, in cooperation with the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute.
