Program Overview
The Master of Science in Public Health (MSPH) in Global Epidemiology (GLEPI) is a joint program offered by the Department of Epidemiology and the Hubert Department of Global Health. The GLEPI MSPH degree provides global context for epidemiologic training and is designed for students with strong quantitative skills seeking a more in-depth education in epidemiologic methods. This degree program is particularly well-suited for students who are interested in a research-focused career.
Curriculum
Required Courses
Our global context curriculum provides a strong foundation in epidemiologic and biostatistical methods with elective flexibility, preparing our graduates for positions in government, non-profit, industry, and academic sectors.
An MPH in GLEPI requires 48 credit hours of coursework, including an applied practice experience and a thesis.

Admissions
Admissions Requirements
Applicants to the MSPH program in Global Epidemiology need to meet the admission criteria for both the Epidemiology (EPI) and Global Health (GH) Departments. GLEPI students have an aptitude for the methodological rigor of epidemiology, a population-oriented approach to public health, and a demonstrated concern for underserved populations.
In addition to the SOPHAS application, all applicants will need to submit the following materials when applying to the MSPH in GLEPI.
- Personal statement including your interest in the field of public health and epidemiology, as well as your interest in Rollins. Please address your career goals. GLEPI program applicants should additionally summarize relevant public health experience like working with underserved populations, volunteer or mission experience, Peace Corps or AmeriCorps service.
- College transcripts
- Two letters of recommendation
- Resume
The GRE is not required for admission and will not be considered as part of the application for admission.
The Department of Epidemiology also requires the following for MSPH applicants:
- One college-level calculus course
- One college-level science course
- Minimum preferred GPA of 3.5
