
Sarah Qabazard is a PhD student in the Nutrition and Health Sciences program at Emory University. Before coming to Emory, she was a senior research assistant in the Population Health department at the Dasman Diabetes Institute in Kuwait City, Kuwait. Her role involved collecting, cleaning and analyzing data, and assisting in writing grant proposals and manuscripts. Sarah's also involved in major population health studies in Kuwait such as the Kuwait National Diabetes Registry (KNDR), Kuwait National Population Health Survey (KNPHS), and the Childhood-Onset Diabetes electronic Registry (CODeR) and hopes to utilize a dataset for her dissertation. Her research interests include the nutrition transition and its effects on the population, investigating the impact of subsidized food on adult and childhood obesity risk factors, and intervention planning for improved diabetes care.
