Luis  Correia

Luis is a cardiologist with a robust clinical research background. Currently immersed in the realm of epidemiology, he holds a research fellowship at the Cardiology Department of Johns Hopkins Hospital. Recently, he augmented his expertise by earning a Master of Public Health degree at the esteemed Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Now, embarking on a new career trajectory as an epidemiologist, Luis is pursuing a PhD in Epidemiology at Rollins School of Public Health, Emory University.

In his academic journey, Luis is focusing his attention on causal inference, with a persistent interest in cardiovascular disease outcomes. However, he is expanding his investigative scope by shifting his focus from traditional biomedical exposures to exploring the intricate interplay of psychosocial factors. Under the mentorship of Professor Viola Vaccarino, a renowned scientist in the domain of gender disparities and psychological determinants linked to cardiovascular disease, Luis is poised to make substantial contributions to the field of epidemiology.
