Jared Bailey, a second-year PhD student at Emory University's Gangarosa Department of Environmental Health, possesses a multidisciplinary background rooted in a profound understanding of the interconnectedness between exposure science, community based participatory research , and toxicology . Beginning with his formative experiences as an urban farmer, Jared's trajectory has been shaped by collaborations with esteemed institutions like Cornell University's Lab of Ornithology and grassroots initiatives within Atlanta's marginalized neighborhoods.

Having pursued a biology major at Morehouse College and subsequently obtaining a Master of Public Health degree from Morehouse School of Medicine, Jared's academic journey has been underscored by a commitment to community-driven research. His tenures at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and joint internship at City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center and Chapman University further deepened his understanding of the intricate interplay between social determinants of health, environmental exposures, and historical legacies, concerning chronic diseases.

Currently, Jared's scholarly pursuits center around exposomics, with a specific focus on investigates the effects of personal care products on women’s health, examining the roles of specific toxicants, their metabolic byproducts, and the biochemical interactions that activate critical signaling pathways. By unraveling the complex relationships between product use and cellular responses, Jared seeks to enhance understanding of how environmental factors contribute to health disparities. His research employs advanced computational analyses to further explore these interactions and inform strategies for risk mitigation in vulnerable populations.

Additionally, his research endeavors encompass investigating lead levels in Atlanta communities and their correlation with neighborhood deprivation indices, aiming to advance our understanding of environmental health disparities.
