
Bio
Allison is a first-year doctoral student in the epidemiology department. Prior to her return to Atlanta, Allison worked as an epidemiologist for the Texas Department of State and Health Services in Houston. She has previous experience as an epidemiology fellow with CDC Vietnam where she coordinated a series of COVID-19 seroprevalence studies and developed surveillance and laboratory systems strengthening projects in the country. She gained additional skills in research and project management through graduate work on adolescent sexual health interventions and qualitative research among immigrant mothers in Houston, TX, as well as her time in Peace Corps Togo.
Allison brings an analytical and practice-oriented approach to her work. She intends to use fundamental skills gained through her doctoral program to further effective global public health research and practice. Her primary areas of interest include infectious diseases, surveillance and public health systems, and vaccines.
