Moose Alperin Named Director of Online Education
Moose Alperin, EdD, has recently been named as the school's inaugural director of online education.
In this role, she will build upon her decades of excellence in teaching, instructional design, and digital scholarship as she supports Rollins’ expanding online educational offerings. This includes the school's new online part-time Master of Public Health, Doctor of Public Health, and Rollins Health Education Institute.
As director of online education, Alperin will play a critical role partnering with faculty as they develop new online courses and assisting academic departments as they support fully online students’ engagement and integration into the Rollins community. This role is crucial to working toward the strategic plan goal to transform educational offerings.
Alperin is an associate professor of practice in the Department of Behavioral, Social, and Health Education Sciences with a track record of commitment to public health education and service to the Rollins community. She has served as the director of the Executive MPH Program since 2008, a program in which she has taught since 2001 and will continue to direct. Alperin has been a key leader in the Emory Center for Public Health Preparedness, the Emory Public Health Training Center, and currently the Region IV Public Health Training Center. Additionally, Alperin serves on the editorial board of Pedagogy in Health Promotion. Through her efforts, she has ensured that individuals across the public health workforce are prepared for the ever-changing landscape of public health practice.
She has contributed to excellence in online teaching and learning across Emory University through membership in the Woodruff Health Educators Academy Steering Committee, Digital Scholarship and Pedagogy Governance Subcommittee, and the Online Education Operation Support Executive Committee.
Alperin’s contributions to Rollins, Emory University, and the public health workforce at large are highly valued by the school.
