Dr Tanushree Bhan is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Hubert Department of Global Health at the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University. She engages mixed methods to explore her research interests in poverty, policy, and politics, primarily in India. Her work has been published in leading health policy journals such as Social Science and Medicine. Her doctoral research project on sanitation policymaking for the urban poor in Delhi was awarded funding from the Vice Provost’s Office, for which she also received a Public Service Award from the Dean of her graduate school at the University of Massachusetts Boston. Dr Bhan has over 5 years of policy-focused research experience in development issues related to welfare program and public service delivery, and gender disparities in laborforce participation at think-tanks, and at the World Bank in New Delhi where she worked prior to joining Emory.
