Puneet Chehal
Asst Professor
Assistant Professor
Faculty, Health Policy and Management

Dr. Chehal's existing and planned future research agenda centers principally on the following two areas: (1) state Medicaid managed care program design and the health needs of vulnerable populations served by these programs, and more recently, (2) longitudinal (or life course) population prevention and management of chronic disease(s). Currently, she mostly focus on diabetes, a chronic disease that imposes substantial burden on Medicaid programs and enrollees. In future work, Dr. Chehal will expand her research to consider cardiometabolic diseases and multimorbidity. Throughout her work in both these areas, Dr. Chehal considers or explicitly study racial/ethnic minority populations who experience accelerated deterioration in health over their lives due to stressors from living in a racialized society.
