Rollins Epidemiology Fellowship Program Welcomed to TEPHINET

The Rollins Epidemiology Fellowship program was recently added as an Advanced Field Training Program Member of the Training Programs in Epidemiology and Public Health Interventions Network (TEPHINET), a global network dedicated to strengthening the public health workforce. Rollins is only the second U.S.-based program, alongside the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Epidemic Intelligence Service, to receive Advanced Field Epidemiology Training Program membership.

“This recognition connects the fellowship with peer programs around the world, creating new opportunities to share promising practices and giving fellows and alumni access to TEPHINET’s global professional network,” says Allison Chamberlain, PhD, Rollins Epidemiology Fellowship founder and faculty lead. “The world needs talented epidemiologists. To be contributing to that talent base through a program like the Rollins Epidemiology Fellowship is so rewarding. We are excited to be a part of the TEPHINET community.”

The Rollins Epidemiology Fellowship program is a two-year fellowship program open to people who have graduated from an accredited school of public health within the last three years. Administered out of Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health, fellows receive mentorship from Rollins faculty and applied epidemiology experiences in one of Georgia’s 18 health districts. 

“The Rollins Epidemiology Fellowship started as a COVID-19 response program. We continue today to support Georgia’s state and local health districts while simultaneously supporting the development of early-career epidemiologists. Connecting our program and our fellows to the TEPHINET community is only going to deepen the learning of our fellows that much more," says Shelby Rentmeester, director of the Rollins Epidemiology Fellowship program.
