Bio
Huda Bashir is a PhD student in the Department of Epidemiology the Rollins School of Public Health. Her research lies at the intersection of policy evaluation, adverse pregnancy outcomes, and bias analysis, with a particular focus on how social policies can reduce adverse pregnancy outcomes among Black women. Her work applies rigorous epidemiologic methods to evaluate the effects of policy interventions and generate evidence to inform efforts to improve maternal and child health. Her dissertation research examines the disproportionate burden of cesarean sections among low-risk populations and explores the role of midwives in reducing cesarean deliveries among low-risk pregnant women.
