Bio

Trish Miller has over 20 years of experience working as a corporate and public health professional. She is passionate about the health and well-being of children and works to create equitable opportunities for their development. Her own near-drowning experience as a teenager fueled her passion to overcome cultural and social norms and ensure that she and other members of her community learn how to swim. This experience led to the creation of SwemKids International Inc, a nonprofit organization focused on providing culturally relevant swimming and water safety programs to equip Black children with the skills to have a healthy and safe relationship in and around the water.

As the founder and CEO of Swemkids, Miller has been a Women's Entrepreneurship Initiative fellow, Spanx/Sara Blakely Foundation resident, and a Center for Civic Innovation fellow and resident. She has also been featured in Radiant Health Magazine, NPR, and was a 2019 TEDx Atlanta speaker. In 2022, she was recognized with Emory’s Alumni Community Impact Award. SwemKids has been recognized by the Georgia Senate for its work to reduce drowning rates in our communities.
