Bio

I have over 30 years of experience in community-engaged chronic disease prevention and I direct the Emory Prevention Research Center (EPRC) which focuses on primary and secondary prevention of cancer and other chronic diseases, with an emphasis on tobacco control and healthy eating in rural communities. We also have evaluation contracts for community-driven health equity initiatives and are active in dissemination and implementation research.  My team has developed and tested two interventions, one addressing weight gain prevention and the second focused on smoke-free homes.  We are currently testing adapted version of both of these intervention for varied populations and community contexts. I'm committed to engaging with the public health practice community and using participatory approaches.
