Aliki Pappas Weakland is a mission-driven public health executive with over two decades of experience leading complex, high-impact initiatives across federal, nonprofit, and global consulting environments. She brings strategic foresight, policy acumen, and a deep understanding of organizational effectiveness to board service. Pappas Weakland currently serves as associate director for policy, planning and communication in CDC’s Office of Readiness and Response, where she leads agency-wide efforts to align strategic priorities and drive cross-sector initiatives that enhance national public health readiness. In this role, she oversees multidisciplinary teams and manages high-impact portfolios focused on innovation in emergency preparedness and response. Her CDC tenure also includes roles in chronic disease prevention, health promotion, and birth defects prevention. Pappas Weakland’s broad-based expertise spans health policy, operational leadership, public-private partnerships, and program evaluation, positioning her as a valuable contributor to navigate complexity, scale impact, and strengthen organizational resilience.
