Overview
Each year, Rollins recognizes two alumni who are making exceptional impacts on the field and significantly contributing to efforts that prevent disease and protect public health.

Distinguished Achievement Award
This award recognizes a lifetime of career achievement. Recipients exemplify dedication to the public health ideals of promoting health and preventing disease and have made outstanding contributions to the field.

This award honors the memory of Matthew Girvin, a 1994 graduate from the Hubert Department of Global Health. Recipients exemplify Girvin’s selfless dedication to the field of public health and are positively impacting the lives and health of others in their early career.

Nomination Form
Do you know a Rollins alum who is making a real difference in public health? Nominate them for one of our alumni awards.
Selection criteria:
- Individual is a graduate of Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health. Individual must have graduated within the past 10 years to be eligible for the Matthew Lee Girvin Award.
- Individual is making/has made an outstanding contribution to the field of public health at either a community, state, national, or international level.
- Individual’s contribution(s) have been made subsequent to receiving their degree from Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health.
Award recipients are chosen upon the recommendation of a special selection committee chaired by the president of the Alumni Association Board and approved by the Alumni Association Board. All nominations are confidential and will be considered for three years unless otherwise indicated by the nominee.
