Program Overview
The MSPH in Data Science in Behavioral, Social, and Health Education Sciences (BSHES) trains students to apply advanced computational methods and behavioral and social science theory to improve population health. Graduates are prepared to use data science tools to communicate public health information, conduct theory-driven analyses, and critically engage in the ethical use of data.
Curriculum
Required Courses
The MSPH in Data Science in BSHES requires 48 total credit hours of coursework, a practicum, and an integrative learning experience. These requirements must be met while maintaining an overall GPA of at least 2.7.
Admissions
Admissions Requirements
Requirements for admission to the MSPH in Data Science in BSHES:
- Completion of a four-year baccalaureate degree or its equivalent
- Completion of one semester of calculus prior to matriculation
In addition to the SOPHAS application, all applicants will need to submit the following materials when applying:
- Personal statement that addresses the applicant's interest in public health, data science, and behavioral and social sciences
- College transcripts
- Two letters of recommendation
- Resume or CV
The GRE is not required for admission and will not be considered as part of the application for admission.
