Aishat Gambari

Aishat Gambari, MPH is a doctoral student in the Nutrition & Health Sciences PhD program at Emory Rollins School of Public Health. She is interested in global infant feeding and nutrition, specifically exploring new ways to promote breastfeeding and improve the implementation of lactation supportive practices at multiple levels of the socioecological model. She is also interested in studying issues of equitable access to breastfeeding support among migrant women in the US and exploring the intersections of breastfeeding with WASH.

Prior to her training at Emory, Aishat served as a research and communications assistant at the Center for Health Equity, Education, and Research (CHEER). In this role, she led the center's qualitative studies and dissemination efforts, and supported the main quality improvement project, CHAMPS, which focuses on breastfeeding support and implementation research through the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative. Aishat holds a Masters degree in Public Health, with a specialization in global health, from Washington University in St. Louis.
