Course Sequence - Master of Health Administration

The Master of Health Administration is a two-year, six-semester program. Students complete coursework part time and mostly asynchronously. Students also participate in three on-campus residencies  and various cohort Complex Problems case study and mentoring synchronous sessions throughout the course of the program.

Program Schedule

Fall 1

  • In-Person Residency (2 credits) – Health Care Marketing & Communications
  • Health Informatics and Decision Making (3 credits)
  • Leading People & Health Care Organizations (3 credits)

Spring 1

  • Health Care Financial Management
  • Introduction to Data Science & Decision Support
  • Cohort Complex Problems Case Study – meet two to three times synchronously over course of the semester

Summer 1 (11 weeks)

  • Economics & the U.S. Health Care System
  • Evaluating Emerging Technologies in Health Care
  • Cohort Complex Problems Case Study – meet two to three times synchronously over course of the semester

Fall 2 (12 weeks)

  • Quality of Health Care & Risk Management (3 credits)
  • Information Security, Privacy, Legal & Ethical Issues (3 credits)
  • Cohort Complex Problems Case Study – meet two to three times synchronously over course of the semester

Spring 2 (12 weeks)

  • In-Person Residency (1 credit) – Complex Problem Solving in Health Care Management - Foundations
  • Operations Management in Health Care (3 credits)
  • Business Aspects of Technology, Informatics & Data Science (3 credits)

Summer 2 (11 weeks)

  • Organizational Theory: Managing Change in Health Care Organizations (3 credits)
  • Digital Project, Program & Portfolio Management (3 credits)
  • In-Person Residency – Presenting Solutions for Digital Health Care Problems (1 credit)
