Program Prerequisites

  • MPH/MSPH or equivalent master’s degree. Students who have not earned an MPH or MSPH from an accredited institution will be required to complete the following additional coursework:

PUBH 700 (1)

EPI 530 (4) or EPI 504 (2)

BIOS 500 (4)

BSHES 540 (3) or another research methods course

  • Three years of professional work experience at the time of matriculation. Students may begin the application process once they have acquired two years of full-time work experience

 Application Requirements

  • Statement of purpose and objectives (personal statement) 
  • Two letters of recommendation 
  • Quantitative experience statement: Foundational quantitative knowledge, analytical skills, or work experience are crucial for students entering the DrPH program to successfully complete doctoral-level coursework.
    • If you completed a graduate-level course in statistics, data analysis, or another related quantitative subject three or more years prior to the expected time of matriculation into this program, please comment on the strengths of your quantitative skills by discussing specific research or work-related experiences involving analytical and/or quantitative tasks in the past three years.
    • If your academic and professional experience with quantitative tasks is over three years old, you will be required to take a quantitative course in your first year of the program, in addition to the required credit hours of the curriculum.
  • Official transcripts from each college-level institution attended 
  • World Education Services (WES) ICAP Course-by-Course evaluation of academic records from institutions outside the U.S. and English-speaking Canada (if applicable) 
  • Rollins requires international students whose native language is not English to take either the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). Test scores may not be more than two years old. 
  • TOEFL: have ETS send scores to SOPHAS using code 5688 
  • IELTS: Applicants who elect to take the IELTS should make this selection under theStandardized Tests section on the SOPHAS application, a new TRF Number field will appear for you to complete. To send official IELTS scores to SOPHAS, applicants must use a predetermined IELTS code. Applicants can view received test scores under the Check Status tab in the application. 
     
    *Prospective students who are permanent residents of the United States or have completed a degree at a U.S. institution do not need to submit TOEFL or IELTS scores.  
     
    *Students who are citizens of the following English-speaking countries are also exempt from sending TOEFL or IELTS scores: Australia, Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, Gambia, Ghana, Guyana, Ireland, Jamaica, Kenya, Liberia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Trinidad and Tobago, Uganda, United Kingdom, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. 
  • The GRE is not required or considered for admission.
