Michele Gornick

Bio

Dr. Gornick is a transdisciplinary scientist with expertise in genetics, statistics, social & behavioral sciences, and bioethics. Her research focuses on patient-centered communication of genomic information and barriers to integrating complex data into health care and policy. She employs user-centered design and democratic deliberation to gather informed public input on genomic sequencing data return, newborn screening, and cancer screening. She has led deliberative sessions with organizations such as the VA National Center for Ethics in Health Care and Iowa Department of Public Health, as well as community members in Georgia. Dr. Gornick is also the founder of the data analysis consulting group Health Matters.
