Lori Northcraft Baxter 10A 10PH and David Baxter welcomed their second child, a son, Riley Ernest, on October 5, 2018, in their hometown of Roseburg, Oregon. In December, Lori and her family will return to Vientiane, Laos, where they have lived for the past two years working to expand the rights of people with disabilities with Humanity and Inclusion (Handicap International). In Memoriam

Dr. Sandra L. Evans Goins, Col. (Ret.) 90N 90PH passed away on June 29, 2018. An Army officer from 1978-2006, Sandra served her country as a medical surgical nurse, community health nurse, chief of preventive medicine, nurse method analyst, and chief of community health service. She received the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal and the Army Superior Unit Award in recognition of her military work. In addition, she was a member of the Order of the Military Merit and a recipient of the distinguished Surgeon General’s 9A designator in community health nursing.
Upon her retirement from the military, Sandra taught, mentored and advised students at Fayetteville State University and North Carolina Central University. She remained an active member of the North Carolina Nurses Association, Chi Eta Phi Nursing Sorority and the Black Nurses Association.
Sandra was a graduate of Winston-Salem State University, Emory University and Charham University where she earned dual masters of science degrees in nursing and public health, and a doctorate of nursing practice degree respectively.
