Dr. Rami Yacoub is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology at Emory University Rollins School of Public Health and serves as the Associate Director for Research at the Georgia Cancer Center for Cancer Statistics. With a medical degree (MD) and a Master of Public Health (MPH), Dr. Yacoub bridges the medical and research domains, offering a unique perspective as a cancer epidemiologist and population-based researcher. His work focuses on cancer prevention and the impact of social determinants of health, including race/ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, immigration status, sociocultural factors, and neighborhood contextual characteristics, on health outcomes. Utilizing data from the Georgia Center for Cancer Statistics at Emory University, Dr. Yacoub is Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI) in multi-site studies on various cancers, including prostate, breast, and colon cancers.
