Michael is a Senior Vice President with Coker, a healthcare advisory firm. He has been working in healthcare performance improvement for 24 years and has taught at Emory University for the past 12 years. Michael is a certified Lean Six Sigma black belt through the American Society for Quality (ASQ) and a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE). He holds a B.S. Industrial & Systems Engineering degree and an M.S. Management of Technology degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Michael has worked with 50+ Healthcare provider clients helping them improve clinical, financial, and operational performance. More recently, he has supported clients with their digital transformation strategy & implementation. Michael started his career at PriceWaterhouseCoopers Consulting and continued his healthcare consulting career at University Health System Consortium (UHC) as a Principal Consultant working with 28 different Academic Medical Centers, including reputable health systems such as Denver Health, Emory Healthcare, Stanford Hospital and Clinics, UAB Health, and the University of Maryland Medical Center. Michael spent 12 years working in various leadership roles at large health systems including Piedmont Healthcare and WellStar Health System in the areas of Finance, Strategy, Quality, and Operations. He served as a National Malcolm Baldrige Quality Award Examiner in 2011 and 2014. Michael also trained under Dr. Brent James at Intermountain Healthcare receiving his ATP certification. |
