Researcher calls for evidence base for community and stakeholder engagement in science programs
James V. Lavery, PhD, Conrad N. Hilton Chair in Global Health Ethics at Emory and the Hilton Professor of Global Health Ethics at Rollins, has published a commentary in Science calling for establishing an evidence base for community and stakeholder engagement in science programs. His commentary outlines key challenges to establishing an evidence base as well as suggestions on ways for funders to move this much-needed agenda forward. As a supplement, Lavery has provided a table which offers an empirically grounded framework that identifies some of the major gaps in evidence about community and stakeholder engagement.
