Rollins students and faculty are frequent authors and collaborators on articles that advance research, provoke thought, and inspire action. Below are a few of this week’s publication highlights.

Katherine A. Singh, MSPH, and Adam S. Wilk, PhD, were the authors of the article, “Affordable Care Act Medicaid Expansion and Racial and Ethnic Disparities in Access to Primary Care,” published in Journal of Health Care for the Poor and Underserved.

Amit J. Shah, MD, and Viola Vaccarino, MD, PhD, were authors on the article, “Preliminary Modeling of the Kinetics of Photoplethysmogram Changes Following Non-Invasive Vagus Nerve Stimulation,” for the IEEE International Conference on Biomedical and Health Informatics (BHI).

Steven D. Culler, PhD, was the first author of the article, “Understanding Readmissions in Medicare Beneficiaries During the 90‐Day Follow‐Up Period of an Acute Myocardial Infarction Admission,” published in Journal of the American Heart Association.

Anne Spaulding, MD, was an author on the article, “Self-reported antiretroviral therapy adherence and viral load in criminal justice-involved populations,” published in BMC Infectious Diseases.

Travis Sanchez, DVM, Mona Rai, MPH, Maria Zlotorzynska, PhD, Jeb Jones, PhD, and Patrick Sullivan, DVM, PhD, were the authors of the article, “Birth Cohort and Racial/Ethnic Differences in the Age of First Oral and Anal Sex Among U.S. Men Who Have Sex with Men,” published in Archives of Sexual Behavior.

Brittney Olivia Baumert, MPH, was an author on the article, “Validity and Reliability of an Assessment Tool for the Screening of Neurotoxic Effects in Agricultural Workers in Chile,” published in BioMed Research International.

Roger Rochat, MD, was an author on the article, “Methodology for sampling women at high maternal risk in administrative data,” published in BMC Pregnancy and Childbirth.

Rebecca Nash, MPH, Timothy L. Lash, DSc, Kevin Ward, PhD, and Michael Goodman, MD, were authors on the article, “Cohort profile: Study of Transition, Outcomes and Gender (STRONG) to assess health status of transgender people,” published in Epidemiology.

Kaitlyn Stanhope, MPH, and Casey Hall, MPH, were authors on the abstract, “A systematic review of trauma-informed approaches to public health research,” for the APHA's 2019 Annual Meeting and Expo.

Scott K. Fridkin, MD, was the author of the article, “Advances in Data Driven Responses to Preventing Spread of Antibiotic Resistance across Healthcare Settings,” published in Epidemiologic Reviews.

Yunfeng Huang, MPH, and Yan Sun, PhD, were authors on the article, “Genome-wide association analysis of venous thromboembolism identifies new risk loci and genetic overlap with arterial vascular disease,” published in Nature Genetics.
