Wise Heart Society

A wise heart seeks knowledge.

This sentiment—the translation of Emory’s motto Cor Prudentis Possidebit Scientiam—informs our core missions of education, discovery, health care, and public service. Acknowledging that our accomplishments would not be possible without the generous support of our donors, Emory has named our leadership annual giving society the Wise Heart Society.

Leaders take action, create change, and inspire others. Members of the Wise Heart Society take the lead among Emory’s most influential annual supporters with their generous gifts. Regardless of where donors choose to dedicate their leadership-level gifts at Emory, this support provides crucial resources that can change lives and is a vital part of what is being achieved at Emory every day.

Leadership annual giving at Emory is recognized at the following levels:

Founders: $1,000*-$2,499 (* $500 for graduates of the last decade)
Mentors: $2,500-$4,999
Pioneers: $5,000-$9,999
Innovators: $10,000-$24,999
Visionaries: $25,000+

Wise Heart Society membership is calculated based on Emory’s fiscal year, which runs from September 1 to August 31. Corporate matching gifts count toward society membership if received before the end of the fiscal year. To find out if you qualify for a matching gift program, visit matchinggifts.com/emory.

1836 Society

In 1836, a small band of Methodists dedicated themselves to founding a college which would one day become one of the nation's premier institutions of higher learning, research and healthcare—Emory. Today, the 1836 Society honors the legacy of those founders by recognizing individuals whose dedication will strengthen Emory for generations to come.

We invite you to become a member of the 1836 Society by making a planned gift of any amount to the school or program at Emory that is important to you. The expression of your individual commitment and values will have a real impact on Emory's continued excellence and its ability to expand its vision in the future.
