The MSPH degree is a research-oriented degree tailored to students interested in pursuing careers as policy researchers in public health or health services research. MSPH students are intensively trained in quantitative analysis and data manipulation through SAS and STATA data programming. The MSPH requires 48 hours of coursework, a practicum, and a thesis.

The MPH degree is a professional/practice-based degree that requires 42 credit hours, a practicum, and a capstone.
