Maria  Garcia Quesada

I am an Epidemiology PhD student with experience in infectious disease epidemiology and vaccine impact research. I am interested in examining and reducing the burden of infectious diseases in low resource settings, particularly as this relates to vaccines, access to clean water, and climate change.

Prior to starting at Emory, I completed my bachelor's degree at Tulane University in Public Health and Neuroscience and then worked at Epic, an electronic health record software company, for two years. I completed my MSPH in Global Disease Epidemiology and Control at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and worked at the International Vaccine Access Center for two years, primarily supporting a WHO study aiming to assess the global impact of pneumococcal conjugate vaccines on invasive pneumococcal disease.
