Health Wanted Wins Gold 2026 Telly Award
Health Wanted, a weekly radio show and podcast produced by the Rollins School of Public Health in collaboration with WABE Atlanta, received a 2026 gold Telly Award in the Series- Health and Wellness category.
The annual Telly Awards recognize the top content produced for screens with winners honoring some of the biggest brands in the world. The competition received more than 13,000 submissions, representing work from six continents and all 50 states.
Health Wanted features accessible information about trending public health topics and interviews with leading scientific experts on everything from GLP-1s, cancer, and opioids to inflammation, menopause, and Ebola virus.
Laurel Bristow, an infectious disease researcher and science communicator, is the show’s creator, host, and driving personality. Her infectious disease background, health communication prowess, and knack for comedy lend the show credibility, entertainment value, and heart, which has been a winning combo for audiences during the show’s two seasons. Health Wanted’s award-winning video content features excerpts from episodes, interviews with experts, and supplemental info from Bristow who breaks down complicated topics in ways that educate and inform.
"While my main goal is to help people feel empowered in their understanding of health, so they can make the best, most informed decisions for themselves, I also have an ulterior motive: to show people that personal health is public health and vice versa," says Bristow. "You can’t have good health without community, and community is exactly what we’re building with Health Wanted."
Health Wanted is currently in its second season as a radio show, podcast, and video series. Recently, the show was picked up by PRX and is available for national distribution through public radio stations nationwide.
