Michael Peterson

Bio
Michael Peters, BA, is a first-year MPH student in the Behavioral, Social and Health Education Sciences department at Emory University's Rollins School of Public Health. He graduated from Stanford University in 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts in Human Biology and a minor in Ethics in Society. Prior to joining Emory Prevention Research Center (EPRC), Michael served as a research assistant in the Department of Epidemiology and Population Health at Stanford Medicine where he contributed to a community-based participatory research (CBPR) project designed to co-develop resources with Latino community health workers (CHWs) in Santa Clara County to improve resource navigation strategies for underserved Latino communities. Simultaneously, Michael served as a program co-director for a harm reduction program operated by the Substance Use Programs, Education, and Resources Office at Stanford. In 2024, Michael received the Stanford Alumni Association Award of Excellence for his commitment to the university through his involvement and leadership. At the EPRC, Michael is a data collector for the Smoke Free Homes 5A Study and Smoke Free Homes Tribal Study. His research interests include health equity, substance use, rural health, and child health.
