Bio

Brittany "Michelle" Saxon, BA, is a first-year student in the Behavioral, Social, and Health Education Services department at Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health. She graduated from Agnes Scott College in 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Health. After graduating, Michelle worked as a perioperative nurse aide in her hometown Augusta GA at Piedmont of Augusta Hospital. During her time as a nurse aide, she witnessed how chronic diseases that are poorly managed can negatively impact the health outcomes of patients. She developed a greater passion for public health and established a greater yearning to work in communities to develop health interventions that targeted chronic diseases. At the EPRC, Michelle creates social media content and infographics, and edits videos to highlight current research conducted in the center. Additionally, she produces social media content for BreatheEasyGA Homes and assists in managing BreatheEasy operations. Her current research interests include health equity, healthcare business and management, and chronic disease management.
