Amsatou Mbacké
Bio
Amsatou Mbacké, BA, is a first-year MPH student in the Global Health department at Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health, pursuing a certificate in Infectious Disease Epidemiology. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biology and African and African American Studies with a minor in French from Washington University in St. Louis. Prior to joining the Emory Prevention Research Center, Amsatou engaged in both biomedical and community health research, including work on sickle cell anemia interventions at Cheikh Anta Diop University in Senegal and hospital-based training in Nice, France. She also participated in interdisciplinary projects focused on health disparities and mutual aid in African diaspora communities. At the EPRC, Amsatou serves as a Graduate Research Assistant for the Tribal Smoke-Free Homes study. Her research interests include community-based participatory research, chronic disease prevention and management, health equity, rural health, and the well-being of minority and underserved populations.
