Josh Kaufmann

Josh Kaufmann, MPH, CHES®, is a Public Health Program Associate, Sr. with Emory University’s Prevention Research Center (EPRC). He is the project coordinator for the Tribal Smoke-Free Homes study, an NCI funded project aiming to promote smoke-free homes in rural Native American households through an adapted evidence-based intervention. Mr. Kaufmann is also the EPRC’s Communications Leads, coordinating social media campaigns, website development, and creative dissemination initiatives. Previously, as an MPH candidate at Emory, Mr. Kaufmann worked to strengthen active bystander and educational programming as a graduate assistant with Emory’s Office of Respect. During this time, he also assisted the Louisiana Public Health Institute with a behavioral health assessment that researched COVID-19’s impact on behavioral health services in the Greater New Orleans area. Mr. Kaufmann is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, having served in northern Thailand, during which he collaborated with local government agencies, educators, and community members to implement sustainable youth development programs. His professional interests include health communications, program development, and community engagement.
