Carlos del Rio, M.D., Hubert Professor and chair of the Hubert Department of Global Health, wrote about his experiences working in global health over the past 30 years in The Journal of Infectious Diseases. Read his article, "From Trained Infectious Diseases Clinician to Global Health Leader, Reflections on the Last 30 Years". Dr. del Rio also recorded a supplementary video in which he discusses how the study of HIV led him to global health. Watch the video.

Congratulations to Dr. K.M. Venkat Narayan! He was recently elected to the National Academy of Medicine's (NAM) 2016 class. Election to the NAM is one of the highest honors in the fields of health and medicine and recognizes individuals who have demonstrated outstanding professional achievement and commitment to service. This year's addition of Dr. Narayan and Dr. Deborah Bruner (School of Nursing), puts Emory's membership at 27 (nine of which come from the Hubert Department of Global Health)! See the full list of Emory members here
